Our University of Lincoln project has been shortlisted under the Data Centre Consolidation/Upgrade Project of the Year category at the DCS awards.
The University of Lincoln has modernized its Edge data centre in collaboration with Schneider Electric and RMD UK to enhance IT resilience and support SaaS applications. This initiative addresses challenges like power disruptions and the need for scalable IT infrastructures due to campus expansion. Schneider Electric’s APC Smart-UPS SRT units and EcoStruxure IT Expert software provide robust infrastructure, visibility, and proactive management of IT equipment across the campus. RMD’s expertise includes fitting bypass panels for UPS maintenance without compromising IT load. These efforts contribute to the university’s net zero carbon goals and have improved IT resilience, operational efficiency, and energy sustainability. The project has earned recognition for its impact on IT network reliability and environmental sustainability.
For these reasons, Schneider Electric and RMD UK’s work at the University of Lincoln deserves Data Centre Solution’s Data Centre Consolidation/Upgrade Project of the Year award.
