How it started
Founded in 1993 by John and Fiona Smykala, RMD began as a small venture driven by passion and a commitment to excellence. Over the years, we have grown and evolved, but our core values remain unchanged. We believe in the power of family and community, which is at the heart of everything we do.
Our journey with APC (now Schneider) started in 1993 as a Power Partner, eventually leading to our status as a Service Partner. Recently, RMD Power Protection and Cooling achieved Elite Partner status with Schneider.
All our engineers are trained and certified on Schneider and Riello products, regularly attending manufacturer training courses to stay updated.
With over 30 years of experience, RMD Power Protection and Cooling is an independent specialist in power protection, cooling solutions, and IT services. We are one of the few UK companies that can survey, supply, install, monitor, and maintain UPS and cooling systems.
We work in partnership with a wide variety of customers, manufacturers, and suppliers throughout the UK. Trusted in both the public and private sectors, we offer globally recognised brands and exceptional in-house service.
Our highly experienced team provides a full range of services with efficiency and professionalism. We expertly handle UPS installation, maintenance, battery replacement, power audits, and site surveys.
